Primary School

Year 3 to 6 (Students aged 8 -12 years).

inspiring students to explore, innovate and thrive

Our Primary program is aimed at students in Years 3 to 6 (aged 8 -12 years).

During this phase of development the magical world of early childhood gradually transitions into the critical thinking of pre-adolescence. This is a time of questioning – when children really begin to develop a hunger to know all about their world:

  • Who?
  • What?
  • When?
  • Why?
  • How?

This quest for knowledge underpins our Primary program that has a focus on comprehending and constructing learning from the history of human civilisations, the student’s world around them, and their attitudes and interests in relation to this. This approach helps to cultivate social intelligence and the student’s developing intellect.

The timetable includes a blend of integrated, core academic and experiential learning programs that are:

  • rich with interesting content,
  • focused on acquiring specific critical skills
  • flexible so as to meet the changing interests and needs of the students

Through this approach we cover the Australian Curriculum needs whilst allowing students freedom to explore topics of their choice.

Our Primary campus allows plenty of space for movement, collaborative engagement, outdoor play and social interaction.

Silkwood is a credible education choice for parents who seek an innovative learning environment that challenges conventional schooling to enhance student learning.
