How to Enrol at Silkwood School

Stepping onto the Silkwood path is a considered decision, to select a school designed with a different purpose than traditional schools.

To help support new families in making a confident decision, we have created a simple and informative enrolment process, with an easy to follow six-step Enrolment Guide.

Step 1
Complete an Enrolment Enquiry Form
Step 2 - Parent Information Course

Our Parent Information Course is a crucial step in onboarding new families to Silkwood and is a compulsory requirement for all new enrolments. The course is designed to provide parents and carers with a deeper understanding of The Silkwood Way and to ensure all new and prospective families understand The Silkwood Difference. The course is delivered by our School Principal and Learning Community Leadership Team in theatre style at our High School Campus and is a child-free event. 

School Tours

To experience our learning environment and see The Silkwood Way up close, we highly recommended families attend a school tour.   

Our school tours are scheduled throughout each term. Families who wish to receive an invitation must first complete an Enrolment Enquiry Form. Our Enrolments Coordinator will then be in touch with further details. 

Step 3 - Enrolment Application

Once you have attended our Parent Information Course, we hope you will have received enough information to make a considered decision as to whether Silkwood is right for your family.  

Enrolment applications may be submitted up to two years prior to the year of commencement. 

*A future Prep Enrolment Application may be submitted for a child from birth.   

To begin the enrolment process you will be provided with an Enrolment Application form by our Enrolments Coordinator. Please complete and submit this along with payment of a $100 application processing fee.   

Supporting documentation required:

  • Child’s Birth Certificate 
  • Passport-sized photo 
  • Two recent school reports (for all school-age children) 
  • Medical reports & assessments (where applicable) 
  • Family court orders (where applicable) 
  • Visa classification and number (where applicable) 
Step 4 - Application Process

Once we have received your completed application form, it will be reviewed by our Teaching and Learning Team before progressing through to an interview. If there are available places in your required year level, an enrolment interview will be offered. 

Interviews are a vital step in our enrolment process. The Silkwood Way interview process allows us to get to know you and your child beyond what can be found on an application form and in school reports. This is where your personalised journey begins.

Step 5 - Offer of Enrolment and Waitlist Placement

Should a suitable place be available immediately, we will be in contact with an Offer of Enrolment. You will be required to submit an Enrolment Contract together with a non-refundable Family Bond Fee within 14 days.

If we are at capacity in your child’s required year level, and you were successful in the interview process, your child will be placed on the waitlist for that year level.

Step 6 - Acceptance of Placement

Your enrolment is not secured until the required documentation and payment has been received by Silkwood School.    

Family Bond Fee = $800 per family   

Once your Enrolment Contract and Family Bond Fee is received by the school, our Enrolment Coordinator will confirm your child's commencement date and provide you with the necessary information required to get you started.
