Helping Hands (OSHC)

PLEASE NOTE: Helping Hands will finish up as Silkwood's OSHC provided on Friday, 20 December 2024. A new provider will be in place from Term 1, 2025.

Silkwood School is committed to supporting parents in balancing work and family. We work in partnership with the Helping Hands Network to provide Outside School Hours Care (OSHC) for children in Prep to Year 7.

Helping Hands prides itself on providing children with fun, play based learning experiences. From exciting activities, healthy nutritious food, to caring motivated team members; the service meets all your child's needs.

Helping Hands Silkwood School

Before and After School Care Hours 

Before School Care Hours: 7.00am - 8.45am

After School Care Hours: 3.00pm - 6.00pm

What happens at Before and After School Care?

We provide a range of activities for all ages including arts and crafts, games, sports, drama, board games, dress ups, cooking activities and fun social time with friends. On request from parents, children can also participate in Homework Club. The service provides breakfast at Before School Care and afternoon tea at After School Care. 

Our team

Your children are in the care of our qualified and experienced team members who have a current working with children’s check and are trained in First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis.

What to bring

Please ensure your children have appropriate and comfortable clothing and footwear, including a sun safe hat. Helping Hands provides breakfast at Before School Care and afternoon tea at After School Care. 

Where is the service located?

The OSHC service is located on site at Silkwood School. All children attending the service must be dropped off in the morning or collected in the afternoon by an authorised person and signed in and out of each session. Silkwood School staff will escort Prep and Year 1 students to the Helping Hands service.

How to enrol

Enrolment is easy and completely free. We don’t charge any annual registration fees.

Click here to create an account and complete our online enrolment form, select the Helping Hands service for your child’s school and enter all required information into the required fields. Once enrolled, booking casual or permanent sessions through the iParent portal is simple!

An online enrolment form must be completed before your child can attend the service. If your family details or emergency contacts change, please update them through our website so that our records remain current.
